Macbook Using Students Suffer Headaches As WIFI Signal In Schools Suspected To Be The Cause.

Posted by: Rachel Figuerron  :  Category: MacBook

The wireless internet technology through WIFI is a technology we have been marveling about since it was developed and introduced for public use. But since then, it has been in normal use in our society that we don’t give it much attention anymore.

In coffee shops we tend to gravitate to branches that have this service and we choose a hotel if they have it as well in their rooms.

And because of this popularity and the seemingly safe signal it produces according to researches, there have been several universities already who have decided to provide their students free WIFI service as well in campus grounds. Administrators simply restrict the users so that student cannot access websites that the school doesn’t deem to be necessary.

But although this may seem to be a good development for a school, some parents aren’t convinced that it is totally safe as it claims to be. Though faced with facts of this signal’s safety among humans, parents in some schools in Canada and the US have claimed that their child has suffered consistent headaches and dizziness since the main campus has started to use a free Internet signal in school grounds.

Although the college students who are actively using their Macs for school work were the real reason the wireless signal was set up in these campuses, there is a nearby school that have 5 - 9 year old kids nearby whose parents allege that their children might be affected by signal. So far these claims are unfounded and they might just be all unrelated, this didn’t stop the parents to complain to the schools administration.

Many students, many of them are using a Mac as their notebook computer, are already reaping the benefits of the wireless Internet signal being distributed for free within the school grounds. Now these students are very much into their computers because most of them are even purchased Macbook insurance so their computers will be covered and replaced in case it was lost or stolen. And if their Mac was damaged, they wouldn’t have to spend, so they got insurance for their Mac.

But these recent concerns of the health safety of WIFI signals have also opened the concern of other parents for other forms of insurance as well. And one “insurance” they would like is to take out the signal inside schools premises totally.

But now that some of the students have already experienced the proficiency of having instant Internet connection anywhere in their school, taking it out is a decision that may take a while to be finalized. When teachers look at these students carefully, many of them have invested in Macbook insurance therefore treat their laptops as serious gadgets for their studies and personal use as well.

So this means, many students use a laptop in school so taking away this signal is one step back ward for the schools desire to help students in their education.

However, these turn of events may force the school to suspend the free WIFI signal until a thorough study will show the parents that indeed the so called innocuous signal is harmless indeed.

Skype has become synonymous with keeping in contact with family and friend via the internet. Famed for its free communication Skype installs on both a PC and a MacBook allow both operating system users to keep in contact with each other. The latest version of Skype 2.8 allows video chat, web chat and voice calling.

The first step you need to do to get Skype 2.8 is visit the website and download the very latest version compatible for the Mac osX operating system. The Skype homepage will direct you to the Windows version, however you will need to visit the Apple page by default. The operation of the software is very similar to the Windows version. Skype 2.8 does have some minimum requirements for successful operation. One criterion, or quality, many consumers look for when seeking a laptop computer is battery life. This is particularly an important issue for those who use a laptop for business, and for people who like to take their laptops when they travel. This computer has 8-10 hours of battery life when web browsing wirelessly. That means you can use it for several hours and move freely, away from a wall socket.

The display on this laptop is certainly a feature to consider. There are three screen sizes to choose from: 13-, 15- and 17-inch. They each take advantage of advanced LED-backlit technology and even the smallest model has an impressive 1,280 by 800 pixel-dimensions.

If you would like to know how much power a computer is capable of, you want to look at what kind of processor it has. A processor is also referred to as a CPU (central processing unit), and is the center of a computer’s important functions. Memory can be a crucial aspect of a device’s features to many potential buyers. Although power is dependent on this, speed is even more a result of memory. A 4 GB (gigabyte) memory is standard for all sizes. This means the computer can run quite fast, even with numerous programs in use.

Cheaper Alternative To Ebay for Buying Electronics

Posted by: Kevin Kaufman  :  Category: MacBook

Burbank, California - Muulu (muulu.com) is a fast-growing cheaper alternative to eBay. Why? Because the average winning bid for new electronics items, like game systems, iPods, and iPhones, is substantially lower on Muulu than on Ebay. People have to pay to bid. Bid payments buy down the possible winning price of the item being auctioned until it is won for well below wholesale price. Other electronics include HDTVs, GPS systems, computers, and laptops.

The first thing you notice about Muulu is the insane deals. People can win a new Samsung 46-Inch HDTV for $350, a new Apple iPod Touch for $90, or a new Sony PlayStation 3 Slim Console for $150. Some bidders virtually camp out on Muulu for the better part of a day trying to figure out a strategy for consistently winning ridiculously good deals using as few bids as possible.

Muulu is a completely different mindset from Ebay. For some people, Muulu is a fun way to spend their spare time, a challenge, a game, a chance to win a plasma HDTV for very little money. But, it definitely requires more strategy and thinking than a conventional auction.

If you are using Muulu for the first time, I recommend that you start with the cheaper auctions. These auctions use up fewer bids and will give you a chance to get used to Muulu. Once you have gotten familiar with Muulu auctions, move on to the higher-priced auctions.

Here’s a secret that the majority of Muulu bidders don’t know, avoid bidding in the first front-page auctions that appear, because they get the bulk of the traffic. Choose a different auction category instead. The most important strategy on Muulu is to bid in the auctions with fewer bidders, because this will result in a lower winning bid. Finally, wait until there are many auctions for a particular item, because the bids for that item are spread over several auctions.

Before you bid on Ebay, be sure to check out Muulu’s newest Ebay alternative. Or, you can register for a Muulu bidding account.

Changes in Apple’s Macbooks

Posted by: Eric Johnson  :  Category: MacBook

The new Macbooks and Macbook Pros represent a sizable change in Apple’s portable computing lineup. The biggest change is in the manufacturing process. Instead of polycarbonate, the Macbook is now crafted out of a CNC machined block of aluminum. The same goes for the Macbook Pro.

The MacBook runs on Intel based processors and have their own integrated operating system in them. ‘X Leopard’ is their latest operating system known for its easy usability and smooth functioning. The MacBooks laptops have come out in different variants like, MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook pro.

On both the regular Macbook and Macbook Pro, you get a glass trackpad. Gone is the click button. Instead, the whole trackpad becomes the click button. Because of this, you also get over 30% more trackpad real estate. Like the Macbook Air, various gestures can also be used with this trackpad.

Apple introduced the glossy display screen, which has been quiet popular for its brighter viewing and better contrast abilities. The MacBook are priced from Rs 50,000 onwards and come in the conventional white colour, the black color models are also available with added costs.

The display is surrounded in black and encased in a sheet of glass. Those who prefer a matte screen might find this annoying. But I didn’t find the glare to be all that distracting and in the end, the deeper/richer colors more than made up for it.

As supplies of polycarbonate Macbooks dwindle from Apple’s inventory, users might want to consider purchasing one now before they’re all out. If the extremely limited supply of refurbished white Macbooks is an indicator of current inventory levels, then users don’t have much time left to purchase one.

If someone tries to invade, it buzzes and takes a picture of the person with its webcam and stores it. This will provide high security to your laptop and the information therein. The MacBook comes with a remote which helps you unlock your laptop and also use it for controlling your multimedia.

One area where a lot of Macbook fans will complain loudly is the lack of firewire. People like firewire because it offers target disk mode, it uses less resources than USB 2.0, and some find it to be slightly faster than USB 2.0. Users will have to step up to a Macbook Pro if they want their firewire.Instead of DVI, users will have to use DisplayPort. It’s much more compact and supports DVI and VGA connections. As of right now, there’s not a whole lot of industry support for DisplayPort.
