The CMOS does detect the full 2GB of memory.

The RAM is the same type as the other stick of memory. 1GB 533MHZ DDR2 PC2 4200 1.8V
The hardware of the computer sees the memory and counts it as physical memory, but the computer doesn’t appear to use the new memory.
