Dell sells computers preloaded with Windows XP & Vista and have also recently started selling PC’s preloaded with Ubuntu & FreeDOS.
The problem is that the computers preloaded with a Open Source (free) OS cost slightly more than the same computer preloaded with Windows?
I would think that this would be the other way around, especially since Linux is a free operating system, that they would pass on those savings to the consumer.

I have one of those dell bluetooth modules +card readers in a dell computer. I tried transferring it to a new computer. (it hooked in via usb on the motherboard) yet it doesn’t seem to want to recognize it. Is there something that prevents it from being used on a non dell computer?
Thanks for the answers so far. I did attempt to install the drivers but the blue led on the module that indicates its on wont come illuminate. So the drivers would not install until I could get that light to come one. It doesn’t show up in device manager either.
