I am looking into buying a new computer monitor for work that will be used primarily for viewing and editing digital photos. The monitor I’m looking at has a max resolution of 1920×1200 and it says for optimal performance verify that your system and graphics card support WUXGA resolution. The computer is several years old and a basic gateway, so I assume the graphics card is not exactly top of the line. From what I can find in the device manager, it has an intel 82845G graphics controller. I’m not sure if this is the same as the graphics card. I can’t find much info about it and would like to know if it is a waste of time to buy a new monitor without upgrading the computer. Thanks for any tips.
